What makes ussustainable

Sustainability is not a marketing claim. It is a set of measurable choices we make about where our servers live, what hardware they run on, and how we measure what happens next.

Where we host

We vet our datacentresagainst four criteria

Every datacentre we work with has to pass all four. Tap each one to see what we look for.

The metrics

How we stack upagainst the industry

Three metrics sit behind every datacentre decision. The orange mark shows the industry average. We require our data centres to fall well within.

PUE

How efficiently a datacentre uses energy. The lower the score, the better.

WUE

How efficiently a datacentre uses water. Lower is better.

Carbon intensity

The amount of carbon emitted per unit of energy produced. Lower is better.

The hardware

Super efficienthardware

We choose the highest energy efficiency hardware on offer at the datacentre. Today that means running AMD Ryzen and AMD EPYC processors exclusively, and picking components with the lowest embodied emissions.

01

AMD Ryzen & EPYC exclusively

We run AMD processors only, chosen for their energy efficiency per unit of compute.

02

Lowest embodied emissions

We pick hardware with the lowest emissions across production, transportation and disposal.

03

Efficiency first

Every watt counts. The best hardware is the hardware that needs the least energy to do the work.

Measurement

The very bestmodelling

We use the very best modelling to give you the numbers you need to improve the sustainability of your applications, from a single page to an entire estate.

01ISO-aligned methodology built on the Cardamon Web Model
02End-to-end measurement across hosting, content delivery and end-user activity
03The platform measures automatically, with no SDKs or code changes
